Girl seeks to fix her countries religion as it has evil people get away with blaming others and having their hands or limbs cut yet they get off free. She meets a boy she really likes and one day sees he's missing a hand. And it's because he was blamed by the elites in their country to do evil to feed his family when that shouldn't be seen as evil, yet emphasis was added to what they do in the privacy, of evil to peoples family behind closed doors. She risks being killed. He risks his life to save hers.

At the end she is the only one telling the story as she has conformed to a different religion in a different country with a different name in order to change it in a different way. As no change was able to be made there.

(The evil would also get off if caught if not shifted with just a cut of a finger or something, a hand on extremes but then they would return and learn nothing as they do not seem to be human.)
